Coffee Tables and Elbow Grease

Today I put the finishing touches to an oak coffee table before it finds its way to The Pantry, Crickhowell.

Its made out of an off cut from a kitchen work top, routed to shape, sides planed and sanded, then finished with a coat of beeswax and two coats of teak oil. The table stands on retro dansette legs and joins a smaller version I made and delivered to The Pantry earlier in the summer.

June 2018

Recent Makes and Up-cycles.

This has been a busy month as the lovely weather has allowed me to work on larger projects in the garden.

This week I tidied up my front garden by making a planter to fit on the wall, allowing trailing plants to grow and cover the rather shabby brick work. Materials cost only £12 - although the plants were somewhat more expensive!

I sell most of my makes on FaceBook under @RhiMark1 and this garden workbench was snapped up straight away.

There were two sets of chair make-overs this month.
Three folding cane chairs have been given a golden revamp.

A set of four rather dull brown dining chairs have been refurbished with new foam, linings and covers, while the frames painted with a monochrome satin finish.
